If you use FTP in Total Commander, we recommend that you install the update as soon as possible! The 16-bit version for Windows 3.1 has also been updated to version 6.57 to fix some errors and the security problem. There is also a32-bit version 6.57 for all who can't or don't want to switch to the new 7.x version.

The most important new features in version 7.02 are:
- FTP over SSL/TLS improvements
- Update Total Commander's environment variables when the system variables are changed (e.g. via Control Panel - System). Works on WinNT-based systems only
- FTP transfers: If transferred file is smaller than expected, re-request file size of remote file with SIZE. If still different, report error (can be turned off).
- F5 - F2 during an FTP connection now adds the files to an already open background transfer manager
